What is YASR?

YASR is a four-day fun-filled spiritual, social, and professional get-a-way. YASR is a concept of creating a harmonious atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, a sense of togetherness and belonging. This retreat is intended for all Young Professional Muslims from ages 18-39. Through a unique set of programming, the Retreat seeks to physically, emotionally, educationally, socially, and spiritually rejuvenate the participants. In sha Allah this year we are taking YASR to the heart of the retreat. A place where there’s something fun for everyone around every corner and where you’ll never run out of things to do.
YASR 2023 will take place in Los Angeles, California from June 16th – June 19th 2023. Registration will open on March 20th 2023 and close on May 22nd 2023 or when capacity is reached. There will be multiple room packages this year. Please read through the details below for the package you choose. We also will be using two hotels his year, however the hotels share a courtyard and the meeting spaces. They are under 5 minutes apart, walking distance.

Registration Guidelines

**Please read the information below. **

Registration will take on a different format this year with registrants paying a flat registration fee of $150 and accommodation separately. Their final price will be determined by the room package chosen. Registrants can choose from one of the following room occupancy options (total prices below are inclusive of the registration fee):

● Single – $715 – only one person per room. (Staybridge Suites)
● Double – $435 – only two people. Includes 2 queen beds. (Holiday Inn)
● Quad – $310 – no more than 4 people in a room. Includes 2 queen beds. (Holiday Inn)

Some information to be included during registration and should be acknowledged, along with what is already on the page currently are:

Refunds
● This year we will have a strict policy on refunds. Unfortunately refunds for the registration fee ($150) will not be issued. However room fees can be refunded if requested before May 23rd 2023.

Rooms
● Double occupancy means you will be sharing a room with someone else, you have a chance to choose this person during registration. Single occupancy means you have the room to yourself. Quad occupancy means you have to share a room with three people. We advise having potential roommates if you plan on sharing a room, otherwise the YASR planning team will do our best to match you with roommates.

Hotel Accommodation and Registration
● Hotel check-in and registration check-in begins at 3PM PT on Friday June 16th 2023. YASR programming will begin promptly at 6PM PT on the same day.
● Anyone who arrives earlier than 3PM PT on June 16th 2023 will have to wait until the hotel prepares the rooms. We are not responsible for food or entertainment during that time.
● Although check-in is at 3PM PT please be aware room check-in is subject to hotel’s availability of rooms and when they are ready.

● Hotel check out is at 10:00AM PT prompt, Monday June 19th 2023. Any late check out fees will be billed to the attendee(s).
● We are not responsible for accommodation outside of June 16th – June 19th 2023. Attendees would have to take care of any hotel reservations on their own.

Transportation and Airport Guides
● This year, YASR will not be providing transportation to and from the airport for attendees. Participants will have to find their own way to the hotel using Uber, Lyft or any other taxi service. The hotel also has a shuttle that runs from the Long Beach Airport to the hotel every 30 minutes. If you decide to rent a car and/or drive to the hotel, the APC/YASR Planning Committee will not be responsible for any possible damages incurred on any rented or personal vehicles.
● YASR planning committee will facilitate all transportation for outings included in our program.
As you book your flights please remember that the 19th also has programming on it. Try to book afternoon or evening departure flights if possible so you don’t miss out! All programming should end by Zuhr time in Cali In Sha Allah.
● Please fly into the Long Beach Airport (LGB). The hotel has a shuttle that picks up from this airport and they are about 5 minutes apart. You may also fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but that is around a 30 – 55 minute drive from the hotel depending on traffic.
● Please be aware that traffic in LA can be extremely heavy. Therefore be mindful of your travel times as we intend to begin all events promptly In Sha Allah.
