Imam Bashir Agboola

Bashir Agboola is an experienced Islamic activist, and an Imam at Masjid Mubarak (NAIM) in Newark New Jersey where he has been involved over the years in various da’wah activities. A seasoned IT executive, he is the Chief technology Officer (CTO), for the nation’s top ranked Orthopedic Hospital based in Manhattan, NY. He has also served on the boards of various religious and professional organizations, including the Islamic Education Foundation, and the Society for Information Management, NJ. He has an MBA degree in Finance from Rutgers University, Newark, a Masters degree in Computer Science from University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science with Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University (Nigeria).

Imam AbdulKabeer Ishola

Imam Abdulkabeer is one time Amir of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He’s currently the publisher of Jum’ah Nuggets on Medium – a weekly Islamic newsletter helping Muslims become better. He’s equally an ardent dai’ big on a journey of climbing spiritual heights. He also serves a Khatib to various local masjid and loves to connect people to Allah, follow the Sunnah and revive Islamic mannerism in the community. He is passionate about writing and reading.

Dr. Latifat Cabirou

Dr. Latifat Caribou is an assistant professor of counseling psychology at Auburn University. She conducts research focused on immigrant racial, ethnic, and cultural minority experiences, and mental health help-seeking attitudes and behaviors. Dr. Cabirou also has a private practice where she provides therapy services to adolescents and adults, as well as mental health and diversity consultation services to community organizations.

Dr. Adeyinka Laiyemo

Adeyinka O. Laiyemo, MD, MPH obtained his medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and completed his Internal Medicine and gastroenterology training at Howard University Hospital in Washington DC, USA. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Cancer Prevention at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA from 2005 – 2009. During this fellowship, he obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with concentration in epidemiology and biostatistics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and gastroenterology and joined the Howard University College of Medicine faculty in January 2010. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine.
In his leisure, he writes on contemporary issues. He is an author of three romantic comedy novels on Amazon.com.

He is currently working on his fourth novel which entitled “Silent Cries: The ideal orphanage”. Dr Laiyemo says “When I grow up, I want to be a movie star and possibly play James Bond in Africa.”
