Youth Amir’s Message

‏اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ

I am humbled, honored and privileged to assume the role of Youth Amir of the National Council of Nigerian Muslim Organizations, USA (2019 – 2021). I am sincerely grateful to my predecessor, Br. Ilias Oyenuga for his leadership and outstanding contribution to NCNMO during his tenure, and the executive members of the Advanced Platform Committee of 2017-2019. I am truly inspired by their commitment to NCNMO, APC and all of their achievements. Indeed, this team has collectively propelled the immense growth of APC, all the past youth Amir’s and past members of the APC executive team. I look forward to continuing this important work towards fulfilling the mission of APC and NCNMO.

In this endeavor, I am joined by my colleagues on the Executive team – Raheemah Raheem (Amirah), AbdurRahman Anifowoshe (General Secretary), Fuad Aregbe (Financial Secretary), Ahmed Oyewuwo (Platform Coordinator), Ibrahim Coker (YASR Coordinator), Idris Ashimi (NPC Male Rep.), Khadijah Shoyinka (NPC Female Rep.) and Kaothar Hashim (Public Relations Officer).

With their support and that of the APC and NCNMO members and executives, I am confident that we will be steadfast in addressing any pressing challenges, and in the next two years our accomplishments will be many – within APC, NCMO as well as in the Muslim community.

A Call to Action

In order to serve our community members and advance our mission, it requires a Team; our executive team and committees are comprised of a wide array of dedicated volunteers. Although volunteering requires an investment of both energy and time to fulfill expectations, volunteer service is an honor. We have been entrusted to make the decision that will advance our organization and with today’s busy schedule, it can be challenging to find individuals with enough time to serve. However, without dedicated volunteers, it will be challenging to fulfill our mission. What you learn as a volunteer can enhance both your personal and career skills without having to invest in an educational class. Where else can you attain such skills? The answer is right here in your own organization. We urge you to become a part of our dedicated volunteer team and help us in advancing our organization.
